About the Company
Litaker Insurance is a fourth generation, family owned, independent insurance agency that was started in Charlotte in 1933 and is licensed throughout the Southeastern United States and beyond.
Litaker Insurance represents roughly 30 different insurance companies allowing them to provide their clients with comprehensive coverage solutions and competitive premiums. Additionally, Litaker Insurance has an in-house claims manager to assist clients with the filing and managing of their insurance claims.
How long have you been offering your services?
“Litaker Insurance was started in 1933. We are a fourth-generation, family business.”
What gets you excited about Insurance?
“I really enjoy how with insurance, as an agent, you get to be a critical resource and advocate for a business owner - helping them protect what is likely their main source of income as well as their largest asset.“
Regarding Insurance, what mistakes do you often see buyers make? (if any)
“Buyers often think that they are buying one thing, but sometimes they are getting something completely different than what they wanted or needed. For instance, in Commercial Real Estate a client may say they need an Umbrella Policy to cover all their properties. An Umbrella Policy is not a bad idea, but it does not actually cover tangible property. Nine times out of ten what the business owner really meant is that they want a Blanket Property Policy covering all their locations. Insurance is complicated. It is important to have someone there who works in it every day to walk you through the options.”
What are the most important things to consider when switching providers? (if any)
“Price and Coverage are always going to be a critical component to an insurance transaction. Insurance is in essence a promise. Make sure to pick a provider and agent who is going to be there to assist when you need them most.”
Share one Spendly success story
“A recent Spendly success story occurred when a Boutique Store put their General Liability needs on Spendly. We marketed the General Liability and were able to provide a significant savings. When the owner chose our quote, we advised them that we are excited to earn their business and asked where their Property Insurance is placed and if we may have an opportunity to assist with it too. After some further conversations, we learned the Boutique’s Agent was located just down the street and had never placed the Property Insurance for the Boutique. We were able to assist them with recommending and securing Property Coverage for their operation too. It goes to show you the power of Spendly. Local is great but it does not always equal good service.”
